Sandawathiye is a tune that I composed during my school days around in 2008. Even after ten years, I can still remember fiddling with the tune while looking at a crushed piece of paper which was torn off a writing pad. That piece of paper was handed to me by the veteran lyricist Mr. Nandana Wickramage.

I am ever so grateful for the opportunity given by him, despite the fact that I was at the very beginning of my career starting as a composer. Mr. Nandana Wickramage is credible for many popular songs in Sri Lanka and I am humbled that he wanted to work with me. 

However, sometime later in life (2014), Ridma Weerawardene finds me and shares his idea on working on an album. Sandawathiye became a part of it.
